  1. Brand and pricing

When a laptop has the backing of a well-known brand, you can be assured of the quality of the product. You are offered a durable product with great after sales support like tech support. Dell is one of the most popular brands that cater to the different laptop needs of the users. Check out the Dell laptop prices to find the one that best fits your budget.

  1. Operating System

One of the biggest factors that determine your experience with the laptop is how you interact with its interface. You may opt for a Windows laptop, and make use of the great flexibility that the laptop provides. If you own an iPhone and an iPad, it is wise if you opt for a MacBook or any other of Apple’s wide range of laptops. However, if you’re looking for basic functionality like web browsing and checking your email, then a Chromebook is an ideal choice for its low cost and long battery life.

  1. Hardware

The processor is what lets you multitask. The two popular choices are the AMD series or the more advanced Intel series. Next, check the RAM of the laptop. Most laptops offer at least 2GB RAM, but if you’re looking for some hardcore multitasking or a gaming laptop, then you may want to consider a laptop with 8GB of RAM. Consider the kind of internal storage incorporated in the laptop. A Solid State Drive (SSD) is faster and easier to access. However, it may cost more and is available in lesser capacities of 128GB or 256GB. Your other option is an eMMC drive which offers more space but is slower.

  1. Screen size

If ultra portability is your key demand, then an 11-12″ laptop will do the trick. However, if you’re looking to replace your desktop with a laptop, then you may want a bigger 17-18″ screen laptop. For those looking for a compromise, there are various 13-16″ laptops you can choose from.

  1. Display

If you need a laptop predominantly for media use like watching movies, creating videos, gaming, etc. you may want to opt for a laptop which supports full HD or 1080p display resolution, or even higher. If performance is your only criteria and budget is limited, then a lesser resolution should be good too.

  1. Battery life

In case you need a laptop to replace your desktop or to use at your workstation, then the battery life shouldn’t be a problem, as you can very well keep the laptop connected to a power source most of the time. However, if you are constant on the move, then it is wise to get a laptop with at least 6-7 hours of battery life.

  1. Keyboard

This poor little piece of the laptop is often overlooked, and quite wrongly so. It is actually one of the most important parts of your laptop and can ruin your whole experience of using the laptop if not chosen well. For instance, if you work late nights or post lights-out, then you’d need a laptop with a backlit keyboard. Wouldn’t want to be stuck straining your eyes to know what keys to press, would you?

Lastly, try to get your hands on your final options for some real experience so that you know which laptop suits your style the most.
